I had a JVC JL-B44 once upon a time. Seemed like a pretty nice table. Mine had hollow feet, so I filled them up with lead shot and glue. I also disassembled the whole thing and refinished my plinth in Black as I liked that look a bit better. When I reassembled it I fashioned a gasket out of sorbothane to dampen the plinth/drive interface. Did the same thing with the tonearm (I think - IIRC). I ended up gifting it to my bother in law (may he rest in peace) about 20 years ago or so. Not sure whatever happened to it, but I know it got a lot of use before, during and after me! I remember that it did not spool up to speed real fast (not like a technics 1200 does), but it was speed stable. I don't think I've ever seen another JL-B44 until you posted the pic!
