I've been tinkering for about a week now with creating a Lyle Lovett compilation. I think I'm finally through. I just listened to the entire thing, and enjoyed it immensly. This is a sort of anthology that spans his career.
Here's the lineup:
Gotta Lovett
from Lyle Lovett S/T (1986):
1. Cowboy Man
2. Acceptable Level of Ecstacy (The Wedding Song)
from Pontiac (1988):
3. L.A. County
4. Give Back My Heart
5. She's Hot To Go
6. M-O-N-E-Y
from Deadicated: A Tribute to the Grateful Dead (1991):
7. Friend of the Devil
from I Love Everybody (1994):
8. Skinny Legs
9. Record Lady
10. Creeps Like Me
from The Road To Ensanada (1996):
11. The Road To Ensanada
12. Her First Mistake
13. Don't Touch My Hat
14. That's Right (You're Not From Texas)
from Live In Texas (1999):
15. I've Been To Memphis
16. What Do You Do (with Francine Reed)
17. She's No Lady
18. North Dakota (with Rickie Lee Jones)
from My Baby Don't Tolerate (2003):
19. The Truck Song
20. Working Too Hard
21. San Antonio Girl
She clocks in at 79:45. It was hard to cull songs and choose. I love LL's music. I could easily do a Vol. 2 (note to self).

ps - Some of you will probably find this in your mailbox soon.
