grabbed a kenwood ka-701

found a kenwood ka-701 today (30$)... seems to be in great shape the on/off toggle is broke but great other wise. any testing or anything i need to be aware of ?

found the service manual online.

I have the KA-501 and KA-701. Great units but horrible switch design. Tought to find them intact these days. I was able to adapt a power switch from an older model to repair the broken switch on my KA-701. Here are the before and after pics.

Carl, nice amp. I think it's just about the cleanest and best looking of the (affordable) vintage Kenwood gear. Definitely check the DC offset and bias levels, and carefully adjust accordingly.

got the dc offset zero'd out...
but the bias are a little high based on the service says. rec is 26mv mine is at 74.
(but a matched 74 L&R .. )
