To return to the original point of the thread - If you can find a good stylus for the Stanton 681eee, you might have both the stop gap and the final destination cartridge (and the Pickering isn't bad either). Very fine cartridges - I was a Shure fan in the 70s and didn't pay attention to the Stantons and Pickerings, but I find them very enjoyable to listen to, and unfussy about arms and loading. I have been lucky enough to have a couple with good styli so haven't had to venture into the unknown of aftermarket versions, but Needlestein seems to gone whole hog on evaluating them, so a look at his thread(s) will probably be a good guide.
