Grace G 714 pinout

Dear Friends!

Please help me understand some moments with my Grace G 714.
I don't have original phono cable and am planning to make a new one.
when I checked the wires in the tonearm with a multimeter, I saw this picture

R- connected with G!
is this an error inside the arm wiring?

What you have there is correct. The ground wire is separated from the RCA plugs.

I'm not familiar with the G-714, but generally speaking: In case you've measured, while a cartridge was still mounted,

R- connected with G!

can be caused by a cartridge, the generator shell of which has a ground strap to R- and that has a full metal body and is installed in a conductive headshell - thus causing an unintended short between R- and headshell/tonearm ground. Sometimes that can even happen, if the cartridge body isn't full metal - namely if the unintended short is established by conductive mounting screws and nuts, that happen to touch the generator shell.
