Grado 8MR Cartridge Connecting Pin Markings

Hi Guys

I hope you can help. The pin ID markings on a Grado 8MR phono cartridge are unfamiliar to me. Which wire goes where?

With the cartridge cantilever upwards, the pin ID markings are from top to bottom

G
L R
H

In familiar language L (left), R (right), G (green or ground???) and H (hot???)

Can someone please explain this.

Thanks

L Ground R Ground
L Hot R Hot

Or:
Blue Green
White Red

The 8MR is an exceptionally good cartridge BTW. It's my favorite, in fact.

Easiest way to remember this is:

Red & Green (like a Christmas tree) are the right channel - Red is HOT green is ground (or return)
White & Blue (like the canton of the flag) are the left channel -White is HOT blue is ground (or return)

Red and White are the glow of a heated metal rod - e.g. HOT!!!
Red starts with an 'R' for Right.
Blue has an 'L' for Left.

So you got a Christmas tree to your right and a star spangled banner to the left. Voila! :bigok:

Thank you kind Sirs. It came here a few days ago for repairs, fitted by a wellknown Europe repairer which gave it a boron cantilever which was loose and its stylus gone awol. I have now fitted it with a Gyger FG11 line contact cantilever/stylus and will listen to it tonight.

In the various models of the Signature 8 series.......this one is the "odd duck". But in a good way. Of the Signature series of carts from 1-10
the 8MR, and 10MR have the richest tone. And tone is a "detail" in itself. Coupled with an "extracting" stylus, you should be in for a treat.
regarding wires......grado is one of the few who made the pin location the same as the wire location to the H-4 (sme style) headshell.
Run the wires straight forward from the headshell to the pins.
