when you get your replacement stylus, and you remove the old one, there will be 4 coils showing the ends of the magnetic pole pieces, there will be a dark gray to black looking pucky (most likely) folks think this stuff may interfere with how the cart works and go about some type of cleaning process. that usually breaks one or more of the fly wires coming off those coils...........leave the stuff alone
