Grado XG?

hi gang,
i hate to start *another* grado cartridge thread, but i cannot find any info on the grado XG cart. i've read through lots of the old grado threads and checked the chart that translates the vintage cars to the current prestiges but the XG remains a mystery. the cart body is gold, so, that's got to be a good sign, right? i'm currently running a ZF3 with an 8MZ stylus, but i feel like the ZF3 is a little bit quirky and i'm not opposed to a change/upgrade. thanks for any thoughts/opinions.

If the coil cover is chrome, it's mid level. If the coil cover is gold it's equiv to the silver/gold level. It would be a lateral move from the ZF3 body.......what do you mean by quirky?

hi marc and thanks for the helpful reply. i think maybe my ZF3 is a little brighter than other grados i've had that present the "warmer' sound grado is known for. i found my ZF3 in a flea market and i don't dislike it at all. i was thinking of picking up this XG just to have something different in rotation, but i think i'll pass since it'd just be a lateral move. again thanks for the informative reply. you're the man.

to move from that, you'd want to find a first generation M series (800 ohm motors) or G or F series. Or any of the Sig 8 bodies.
