Granco Custom Series?

Came across a tube console at a local estate sale. They want $120 for it. Never heard of Granco Custom Series before. Very heavy piece. Didn't get a chance to see the tubes but the sellers said it works.

I've heard of some of these tubes before but don't really know much about it. Looks like four 6BQ5/EL84 output tubes. Anyone?

Granco was a brand usually sold by large department stores. Don't know who
actually made them.

Granco was a manufacturer, primarily made FM table radios, though they later made mono and stereo consoles. Story is that the factory burned down in 1963, wasn't insured, and they decided to (had to...) close down.

It looked like a pretty nifty set up - haven't seen a tube console with a "tape" option - I'm assuming that is NOT a reference to cassettes....

I'm probably going to pass - price is a tad high - but would like to get a look at those tubes.

Yeah, if they were all Mullards or Tele's the 6BQ5s could be worth probably 80 or so. You can usually look at the gettering and get an idea if they are worn out or not. I'm with you though, if you could get him down a bit, and pull the back off (just need a 1/4 inch nut driver) it might be worth it.
