Great article on the state of the music streaming industry

Author's point of view ... Apple is using music streaming as a loss leader to sell it's core business inventory ... we'll thank you Captain Obvious. That's what Apple does and that's the business they are in.
Same for the other deep pocket players like Google (not sure why they were not mentioned).

Spotify is solely about Music .... Okay but I wish they were more about music audio quality. I was a paying subscriber for around 18 months and went through numerous upgrades ... none of which gave me any better user interface for audio quality (I'm a PC User). There was third party app Fidelify (High Fidelity Spotify Client) ... why didn't Spotify incorporate something like that. About the only slight improvement in audio streaming quality came when I changed my browser to Google Chrome.

I switched to Tidal (320k) because they had more albums of artists that I wanted to listen too (Neil Young & Michael Stanley for example). Spotify's stubborn position on trying to keep all content on the free side was costing me in missed albums ... so I left.

The Tidal PC user interface is giving me a better sound than I had with Spotify on my audio rig .... not sure why ... but I'll take it. I don't care who owns it ... Samsung could buy it ... as long as the service is available the owner(s) are irrelevant to me. Been with Tidal a short time but I really like the service thus far. Also as my front living room streaming rig get's better (planned upgrades) ... I'll be ready to switch to the CD quality tier ... MQA looks interesting.
