And here I was about to say "That doesn't sound like such a great deal" and then I looked on eBay. Sheesh! Though I'm wondering out loud, what makes the PA-7 so valuable - it's essentially a Threshold stasis amp isn't it? From what I've seen, the Thresholds sell for a few hundred cheaper (on average) than the PA-7 unless there's something special between the two (other than aesthetics).

Not as much of a steal as the $75 Nakamichi RX-505 (Kin to the Dragon) that I stupidly didn't buy when I saw it the other day. :worried:

Seller is a bit off on his PA-7 prices, seems to be quoting prices for PA-7 II.

PA-7 and PA-7 II are not the same amplifiers. I've auditioned both and my experience tells me that the series II is better at handling reactive loads and impedance swings. To my ears the PA-7 has a veiled sound, rolled off in the top end which some would call "warm" sounding.

I've read talk that the earlier PA-7 operates in class A further than the series II, i can neither confirm or dispute that.

I'll leave it for y'all to debate which is the "better" amp. I'm just here to tell you they're different and generally command different values in the marketplace.
