Question though. I have an iron that says it's 15 or 30watts. The other day I tried to solder a wire to a speaker post,(at 30 w) and it took a lot longer than it should have. It looked like the iron needed to be hotter..... Can someone tell me what wattage of iron I should be using?

Just found another post re. this very subject. Looks like I will be getting another iron.

Looks like a decent 40 watt is what's recommended.
