Hi all,

Long time lurker here. Originally joined in 2009, according to my profile page. Have always been into music, but mostly as a musician. I'm a 65-year old bass player who recently retired from playing due to tinnitus and hearing loss, so am redirecting my need for music to my stereo system (i.e., instead of obsessing about bass gear, I'm now obsessing about audio gear!).

I recently decided to resurrect the Linn Axis turntable I've had in storage for the last 18 years, along with the 2,000+ vinyl LPs I've been lugging from one garage to the next every time we moved. I snagged a minty pair of Klipsch Fortes (c.1986) from the local CL and found myself digging into AK again while researching tube gear for them.

I've always had a good feeling about this forum (it has "karma" in its name, right?) and look forward to actually joining in a few discussions instead of just lurking in the wings.

Cheers
Michael

Aloha Michael!

Welcome back.

I played in a band when I was in my late teens. Keyboards and vocals. I studied Guitar and played Guitar in Stage Band in High School, but I taught myself Piano by transposing chords from the Guitar to the Keys. 2 years later after much practice, I was sight-reading and played for two more years in a band. Good memories. Always admired Bass players. Charles Mingus is one of my heroes of Jazz.

Enjoy the forum and those AWESOME Klipsch Fortes!
