So I decided to not be a lurker anymore, and to join this forum. Everyone here seems really great and helpful (must come with enjoying quality music). I'm a college student finishing up in genetics (read: poor) but heard a relatives vintage hi-fi system in California this summer, and have been on a mission since.

Currently I have a Garrard 770, with an M93E cartridge, with replacement stylus in the mail. (Would replace cartridge, but figured I'd wait and get a better TT all at once) I'm also accumulating some decent records from a few local lots, mainly of the genres I like, but not a whole lot in "pristine" quality.

My stepdad has a Marantz 7C he may "lend" me, in which case I'll be purchasing some decent tube amplifier gear after I get it cleaned up. Otherwise I have an older Pioneer SX-850 I will be commandeering from my parents old gear (never used anymore but in perfect condition) for the time being.

Well, figured since I've been perusing the forums and everyone seems so sociable, I'd join! Hope to see some more of you around.

Yeah the handle is from a decade ago when I played paintball haha. Orion - I may try to hit up the meetup that looks like may be happening in the KC area around the 11th of Oct.?

Whatever the equipment you have might be, you'll find company here. I can't believe some of the threads that pop up where someone is asking about a particular item, and someone chimes in with expertise on it.
