Griswold style Christmas tree upsurps HiFi system

We just moved into a new apartment less than two weeks ago. I managed to get a modest 2-channel set up in, and since I can't get audio out from the TV, the NAD amp I'm using didn't get replaced with our Sony AV receiver which has remote volume.

No sooner than everything gets settled, when along comes a huge Christmas tree in the style of Clark Griswold from "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation". I had to move one of my Genesis 2 speakers out of the way to make room for it. As I was cutting the netting off the tree, visions of that scene in the movie flash through my mind, of where Clark cuts the rope holding his tree together, and a branch goes flying through the window.

Many thanks for sharing.

Your room looks very warm and inviting.

Wishing you and your loved ones a peaceful Christmas.

Yes! :thmbsp:

...and again...

Once again, the Christmas tree has usurped the HiFi setup, forcing me to move a speaker out of the way. The tree isn't decorated yet, I figured I'd wait for my wife and little monster to be home this evening, and we'll all do it.

In a bizarre twist of fate, I will be spending another Christmas with a pair of Genesis speakers. I never heard of them before moving to the United States, now I'm on my third pair.

In another bizarre twist of fate, we are spending a second Christmas here at this rented apartment. It's not too bad, very quiet except for the traffic out on the main road, and no neighbors. My friend/landlord is cool, in fact almost too cool, I have to track him down when it's time to pay the rent. My wife and I almost bought a place recently, but we backed out of the deal for personal reasons. So for now, we're just taking things one day at a time.

Merry Christmas all.

I had to move 29 pieces of HiFi off the floor to make space for our Christmas Tree, because it 'had' to go in a certain spot...

Didn't have to move equipment, that is on the other side of the room, but do have to move some chairs and end tables out of the room for the Christmas tree, village and train.
