Grundig console/Perpetuum Ebner turntable repair in Huntsville AL area?

Hello - I inherited a Grundig console (Grundig Musical Instrument 7063 WF/3D, serial no. 200617602) with a Perpetuum Ebner turntable, and it has a couple of problems: (1) The turntable doesn't seem to work and may even be in pieces, given that there is a large (about 5 5/8" diameter) rubber-edged wheel just sitting inside the turntable area); and (2) the tuning knob recently began to produce no results, i.e., it no longer goes from station to station. Also, there are three parts, seemingly "compromised," in a bag sitting inside the turntable area, that says "OM15020D" on the outside (which may or may not be at all relevant). Is there a known way of finding a repair service for such old hi fi instruments in my area, of Madison, AL (35758)? When I could still tune in stations, the sound this unit produced was heavenly - warm, full, and distinctive.

Welcome to AK.

Can't help you with a repair shop, bit I can tell you that some of the PE turntables are very complicated. There is a fellow named Klaus on the VinylEngine forum in the Dual section that could probably help you get a plan of attack. He was able to lead a complete novice like me to get a PE3060 working. Pictures here would maybe generate some ideas as well.

Cheers

Thank you for your reply! I will check out Klaus. But when you say "Pictures here" what does that mean? I saw no pictures on the forum page, in your email, or anywhere else. But I am often very thick when it comes to forums. ;-)

He is asking for photos of your PE unit and problem areas :)

OK, I give up. Where is the "Dual" section? What does that even mean? And I couldn't even find the Vinyl Engine section!
