Grundig Console

I happen to come across a Grundig Console today that was beautiful teak in very good condition. I didn't put the magnefying glass on it but it looked really good. I was told the electronics had issues. They were asking $260. I have not shopped for anything like this and I'm not really interested in a console. Just wondered about the price, seemed a little high to me. Anybody have an idea about price or interested in this?

Value is always up to the seller and the buyer...but I wouldn't pay anywhere even close to that. I've picked up working good condition telefunken consoles with good original parts for $100 and less. The $100 one had a separate EL84 plate amp. I've picked up working integrated telefunkens for $20.
 
Yeah $260 seems a little nutso, especially with known issues.

OTOH, i have a working Stromberg Carlson front loader console that has a push/pull EL84 integrated amp that's highly regarded among some of the tube lovers here at AK. I'd likely pay a higher price for another one of those than i ever would have imagined paying for a console.
 
Theres a beautiful Grundig Console that has been sitting at the local Salvation Army now for about 2 weeks. They want $60. A quick peek in the backside revealed that all the tubes were missing.
