Hello all from the Chicago area,
Got into tubes recently, after remembering listening to my grandparents stereo years ago, and seeing the resurgence of tubes again. I couldn't help myself and dove in.
Worked on old tube TV's years ago but no stereo equipment, so this is all new again. I bought some old Fisher gear recently...love the look and sound.
Needs restoring though so I'm venturing into that realm now.
I'll need advice and this seems to be the place from what I've heard. So please go easy on this old guy with little experience in stereo restoration.

Welcome from another old guy! This is the place. I've done sow tube stuff but not much. Its like working on a Chevy Nova in that everything is big and right there to see. As long if you take a lot of pictures there are tons of us who will offer advice and guide you along. The Search engine is your friend but it is not too bright. Be patient. If you become a subscriber you get access to the Barter town for parts from other members and a library of service manuals.

Thnx for all the warm welcomes. Ah...chevy Nova my all time favorite car, had 3 of them and regret getting rid of them.
I will have to take all of your advice, plus a good cigar with that bourbon.
