Guess the Real Band/Artist

Let's see if anyone finds this interesting. Post a clue to the band or artist in the form of clues to their real name, but far enough off that it's not real obvious. The idea came from some of the fun stretches in the "Almost a band" and "Make a band edible" threads.

For instance... Someone posts....

"Valley Grain-grinder."

The next poster correctly guesses "Glen Miller," then posts a clue to another band or musical artist/composer.

Here's another one to get started...

"Spiced Tea Hacking Snow-sliding"

"Savory plant, a fat guy, and the Mexican border city copper and zinc alloys"

(I know... stupid and easy, and a little artistic license re/ the spelling of the real name, but fun)
