Guess whats in this box

In spite of Grumpys excellent packing, those are STILL honking big, I'm looking around for pictures now....

Grumpy sir, please, did you take any pictures as they were packed? They would give quite a few of us great instruction in how to pack speakers, excuse me, drivers well.

Well my question to you Grumpy is....DO YOU remember whats in the box????

I just couldn't help myself....

Ms Grumpy

The boxes are currently empty except for holding a set of original EV30 shipping cartons. Tomorrow when i pack em up I'll snap a pic for you fellas.

For the record the boxes are 37X37x21 inches for each driver.

Well since our son just moved back home...Could it be Matt's new whip????

PLEEEEAAAAASSSSEEEE!!!!!!

As I was typing that, I just KNEW that the first one in would be you, old friend. You live for those moments.

That's OK, to whom else would I be the straight man, if not you?

;)

Can't wait to see the pictures. I'm not sure what a 30W is but I think I have a real good idea. I have an EV "18W 1" s/n 958 and it's a beast. So a 30W sitting on it's magnet assembly should be about thigh high. I wonder if it looks like mine (only bigger) - a big, deep, shiny cast aluminum frame and a big basket. All Paper cone.

I used mine briefly over thirty years ago. I appropriated it from my father who had traded something for it. I stuck it in my closet with a pretty sorry excuse for a baffle (cardboard) and I really had no amplification for it. It's just been a conversation piece ever since.

Here are a few pics of them being boxed

Good grief, those things look like satellite dishes! The poor neighbors are gonna be running around thinking that the world's coming to an end!

They certainly are serious looking! Now for a History lesson.
Did you have them in enclosures?
Any photos to share?
Any photos of the complete speakers ready to Rock?
What kind of power do speakers of this size require?
Are they Musical or just huge?

I am assuming that you have sold them, no wonder, prolly need an auditorium to get them moving.

Thanks Grumpy, good thread!
