I want to build a solid state power amp class a or ab utilizing DIY amp boards on EBay or other sources. I’m trying to not go too expensive on this as a lot of the purpose is to learn but ultimately have a respectable component for my system.
Is there any guidance on matching a power supply and transformer with amp boards? Also, do they incorporate the main system ground, ground loop protection and Thiele networks or are all these even needed? This is all very new to me as I haven’t yet built a SS amp much less one that isn’t all in one kit.
