Guidance on a Linn Basik

Long time lurker here who’s looking for some guidance.

I’ve got the opportunity to pick up a Linn Basik with a Basik Plus Tonearm and original Sumiko Blue Point cart (with the p-mount adapter). The cost would be $425.

The table is in great shape. Apparently it was owned by an audiophile who upgraded and gave it to his elderly parents. They didn’t use it much and sold it to another elderly man, who also did not put it to use. The cover has almost no scratches and the matting is in excellent shape, so I’m guessing the seller’s backstory holds up.

What do you all think? Is this a good deal?

Thanks!

That is incredibly overpriced, there is nothing particularly special about the Basik.
I appreciate the honesty. I’ve been looking at forums, eBay histories, and other sources and I thought the price was somewhat reasonable, especially with the cart.

Here in the UK you can pick these up all day long with the Basik tonearm for 150/200. I've had a few and you're just paying for the Linn name, its a nothing special turntable

Seems like there’s a divergence in opinion. I’m stateside, and they don’t seem to be too common here. Any other opinions?
