Hi all, been collecting lp's a couple years and now planning finally get gears to actually listen them.
Budget
*Prefer to spend #1: 5k€ / 5,8k$
*Prefer to spend #2 : 10k€ / 11,6k$
*Willing to spend 15k€ / 17,4k$ tops if this brings meaningful component upgrades
How the gear will be used
In my living room which is (3,5m x 8m) 28m² / 301 ft²
Dedicated stereo setup for vinyl.
My TV is also going to be between speakers, I watch quite a lot movies and series and would like to enjoy good soundscape + some gaming with ps5.
Speakers will be around 2,5m - 3m / 8,2ft - 9,8ft away from my couch with a wall behind them and about same distance from speaker to another. It is possbile to shift furnitures in my living room if its essential to adjust the listening and speaker distances, but would prefer this setup that is due to wall socket placements (so there is no need to do cable and wirings across the room).
Streaming could be option too for some spotify listening, but not a must have thing atm. Separate streamer could be added later.
Anything else?
My understanding is that I will need to purchase the following:
*speakers, passive preferred + quality so they can manage on them own without a separate subwoofer.
*turntable, maybe mc preferred if they have a significant improvement in sound quality over mm? Integrated dustcover or separately sold cover would be crucial - I don't want turntable sitting without cover and collect dust.
*amplifier.
*pre-amplifier (possibly already integrated with the above) is it need to be with dac??? I would like to have option to digitalize some of my records to pc because they are rare and not to be found in digital form, if I have understand correct it needs a dac to be able do it? I think separate devices needed to do the ripping on pc I will buy later.
*wires / cables to connect devices together
Maybe later add on to existing core system
*Maybe a separate streamer later to add to my system if these properties do not include on the amp/ preamp (for spotify etc use).
*Maybe a separate subwoofer to get now or upgrade later to my system if it gives significant improvement.
