Hafler DH-110 preamp refurb

I'm new to power amp / pre amp separates. learning fast, picked up a Hafler DH-110 pre and took a chance that it was in good working order to find it quirky with static and low signal in one channel. Switches are worn more than i would like and although the unit is a tank, I know i am not getting clean signal to both sides. I will do the traditional DeOxit treatment and fool with the switches to get the best sound possible. Can anyone give me advice as to the best approach to a refurb? Maybe something they did with same unit, since it seems everyone has had this preamp at on time or another.. Any advice or help is appreciated.

Give the switches a good working over before you do anything else,low level on one channel on mine was caused by dirty switch contacts.
 
I can confirm those muting transistors can be potentially problematic. I only ever owned one DH-110 and soon after I got it, noticed some heat eminating at the back of the power amp. I measured 6 volts DC at one of the outputs. I read online about those muting transistors, got some J112's locally and all was well once they were installed.

Mine had a fabricated volume knob and I did replaced it with a proper one. And all the electrolytics. Not necessarily out of need but the seller I got the DH-110 from claimed it had a total recap done by a tech I happened to know which I found out was BS. So, since I expected a re-cap, I gave it a re-cap.
