Hafler JF200/Fosgate RF200 Preamp+Crossover Who Knows About These, Please?

Hello folks, I have several of these that were boxed away for many years. At some point—if memory serves, I think I was convinced everyone I cared about was going to needed a bi-amped system. So I collected them. Anyhoo, here they are in the light of day again and, low and behold, some of them seem to need a bit of attention. The problem is there is scant little information I can find about them now. Is there anyone here in the AK Village who might have a schmetatic or any experience working on these things? They’re kinda cool, I must say. Thanks for stopping by. Michael

Thats cool. I didn't know Fosgate made home audio stuff. I thought they only built car audio stuff. I had a few Fosgate amps for my car back in the day.
 
It’s my understanding they only made this particular piece of home audio gear for a year or two, I believe around 1989. Fosgate then made other home audio products such as the 2/4 channel power amps: 4125 & 4200. At some point they also released a modular 5 channel power amp under the Fosgate Audionics moniker called FA1000.5 (5 x 200 watts). It’s a beast. I happen to have all these amps stashed away as well. If I can get the RF200s sorted, I intend to put them use—as I planned to do 20+ years ago. Anyway, AW, thanks for popping in.
 
I've had searches for one of these for years. They're annoyingly uncommon on the market.

They do seem to be the only home audio piece they ever made.
 
Thank you the schematic, Pablo. I see it reads “RF2000” though—which was the equally rare high current power amp that Fosgate released at the same time. Does this file also include the schematic for the RF200 pre/Xover? (I haven’t been able open the file yet)

Just for the record, that amplifier was designed by John France of Rockford Fosgate fame. It was initially marketed by Rockford Fosgate for the home market, before the company acquired the David Hafler Company. It was a failure in the marketplace and was not offered for long. I'm not saying it was a bad product (nor am I saying it was good product). It just didn't do well in the marketplace because RF didn't have a presence in home audio.


It was later repackaged under the Hafler brand name, with the JF standing for John France. It didn't do well even under the well-established Hafler name, and was withdrawn from the market after a short time. It was essentially a car audio amp masquerading as a home amp. I have a dim memory that there was also a JF preamplifier."

Thanks again, Pablo. I’m still having some trouble opening the RF200 schematic but will try again on a different device. Re: the Hafler JF iteration that followed, they did indeed have a preamp version as well. I know this because I own one. Thanks also for more of the background story. I appreciate learning about this.
