I have seen a couple of pics on the wed of some Hafler P230's where the 1/4" inputs were changed to rca and the level dials and the mono to stereo selector and ground switich
were deleted. I was wondering if any one had any info on this? Does anyone have any pics?
Thanks

If I'm not mistaken the 1/4" inputs on the P230 are single ended (not balanced). So, it's just a simple matter of replacing the socket with an RCA and connecting the 2 wires. On a 1/4" phono plug the tip will be positive and the sleeve negative.

As far as removing the level controls it is also pretty straight forward. It should have 3 wires. One coming from the input (positive term.), one to ground, and the last going to input on driver board. You just replace all with a single wire from RCA pos. to input on driver board.

Essentially, you can just open up the service manual for a DH-220 and copy the input wiring.

The hardest part will be mechanically mounting the RCA's because the holes for the 1/4" sockets will be too large. If it were me I would repurpose the holes for the level controls to house the RCA'S. Which depending on the actual RCA'S may either be the right size or need to be drilled out a little. Then I would locate some black plastic hole plugs for the old phono jacks.
