Hagerman Cornet 3 Phono Stage Build

My latest system project and upgrade is a Hagerman Cornet 3 tube phono stage I built from a blank circuit board purchased directly from Hagerman. It replaces a very good Hagerman Bugle 3 that I modified a couple of years ago.

It features a 12AU7 and two 12AX7s, cathode Class A gain stages with no feedback, passive equalization, 44 dB gain, and bandwidth of 10Hz to 600kHz, and RIAA accuracy of +/-1dB from 30Hz to 30kHz. It was a tight fit in some places, but I used Amtrans polypropylene and silver mica caps in the audio path, Takman REY and REX resistors, added a 25W 9V regulated linear power supply and put it in a metal case. I'm using an EH12AU7 and two Mullard re-issue CV4004s in it.

It posed a few challenges....mostly due to my own errors, but it's installed in the system and functioning nicely, and I'm very pleased with the results. It's very quiet and sounds amazing with an incredible sound stage.

Here are some pics of the build progression:
