Looking at 3 receivers to possibly pair with a sl-1700mki and Heresy ii's.. these are thru local fb marketplace. All about same distance from me.

First contestant is a Yamaha cr600. It's probably the best overall condition out of the three. Not by much though as they are all really nice from what I can tell so far. The Yamaha is first on the list, but I'm leaning towards the other two. Although it has preamp outs which would be rather nice.

Second is a Pioneer sx-750. Very good cosmetic from what I can tell from pictures. Has had a re-veneer. Pretty good but in a picture does look to have a lil wave to it on the top.

Third is a Technics sa-5560. Again looks to be in very good condition. Probably equally to the Yamaha.

So my question here is. Which of these would most compliment the Heresy? I have read that the Pioneer is a warmer receiver which would compliment the brighter Heresy. I am a Technics brand fan but have not heard these vintage receivers.

Also parts and repairs.. anyone of the mentioned known for any particular issues? What's the parts inventory for these like?

I do like the Pioneer sound. If the price is good I would probably take a good look at that one.
 
Well, the Pioneer is the best looking, I would argue. It is also the most popular, so odds are you will pay to much for what it does. Pioneers have a subtle yet very distinctive sound signature. I personally don't like it, starts annoying me after like 30 minutes. but other do like it. The Yamaha is known to sound very good, can't really go wrong with that. But the Technics is the adventures choice! It might just be great, for little money.. I would try'm!
 
I think you will find as I did with Heresy, BTW I also own every Klipsch Heritage model except Chorus.
That from my experience, Heresy’s and Pioneer SX-939. I really didn’t have high expectations. But finally gave them a try. Was quite surprised just by utilizing the loudness and playing with bass frequency turnover and adding a little more bass how good the Klipsch Heresy actually sounded.
