Thanks for all of the kind words and best wishes my friends! I do appreciate every one.
The day started off as a beautiful summer day. It was very quiet at work so I was just about to take the afternoon off when things took a turn for the worse. A week long struggle with my health insurance company and the prescription service over getting a simple prescription that agrees with me approved went nuclear. Then the usual frustrating methods of doing business reached yet another new high, or low if you will. If that isn't quite enough, my sister called to let me know that my 95 year old mother that has been doing pretty well lately has some new issues that don't look good at all. I saw her today and if things don't improve soon I am afraid that I know what is now right around the corner.
After work I went to dinner with my wife, daughter, her husband and their two kids. Then back to their place for birthday brownies. Yum! We had a great time.
All things considered, the problems at work are not mine to fix. My name isn't over the door this time and those whose name is over the door like living in chaos. So be it. I will either live with it as it is or move on. They have taught me not to try to fix anything and not to care about any of it because they don't either. Oh well. The prescription thing may get worked out -- or it won't. Maybe I can do without the crap anyway. And hey, I managed to make it to sixty! Damn, how the hell did that happen? This kid can't be sixty, not yet anyway! Screw that! I sure don't feel like what I used to think sixty would feel like. I'm not slowin' down. Not now. No way! And my mother, she made it to 95! Maybe that's not so darn bad. And maybe, just maybe, she will make it to 100.
