Harman Kardon 430 twin front (right ch) transformer heats up

Hi I'm new to AK and a novice. I have an HK 430 twin with a hot transformer issue. Its the front (right channel) which also runs the panel lights. I replaced the lamps with LED's and the transformer still heats up. So I unhooked the lights all together and it still didn't make any difference. The unit has been recapped. After an hour, the front transformer is so hot that you can't touch it for very long. There doesn't appear to be any hot or blown parts. The transformer looks fine and the unit sounds great. I just need some help in figuring out what is putting the strain on the transformer. Thanks for your help. Dan

Hi DanJones61. Welcome to AK. The service manual is on HiFI Engine.com. You can register and download for free. I looked at the schematic. T1 has one winding that powers the lights. The other winding powers the Left channel of the main amp (drivers and power amp) PCB. I would double check the parts on that side of the amp. Check all solder connections. Look for resistors that may be getting hot. Haven't worked on a HK 430. I don't know what the correct bias adjustment would be. But I hoped to have given you a place to start.
