Harman Kardon 730 vs Your Favorite Citation

I currently have an HK 730 paired with my KLH 23's and it simpatico defined. They sound wonderful together. Here's my question for the Harman Kardon experts in the house:

Is there really a discernible difference between the HK 730 receiver and the best HK Citation amplifier? It might matter that I listen to mostly guitar/bass/drums type of music.

Not that I am going to run right out and purchase a nice HK Citation amp based on your answer, I'm just curious. Ah, who am I kidding? I'm probably going to buy one eventually because I just can't help myself.

730 vs. the Best Citation.

Discernible difference? Most definitely, power, speaker control, clarity and all manor of listening adjectives can improve and be perceived by the listener with the right speakers and associated gear.

The Best Citation is the what XX and at a few grand it better be an improvement...but wait the tube guys want those amps mentioned, too, and they will sound great.

The middle, Citation 16, 19, 22, 24 well if working properly, I had a fairly sick sounding 19, but my 24 sounds very good, should step up the game a good bit.

I'd try for a 16 or nice 24.
