Harman Kardon 800+

I have a Harman Kardon 800+. I gambled, and bought this receiver for $60. When I got it home I tested everything, and all functions worked. It was a bit scratchy, so I cleaned everything with Deox-it and Fader Lube. No more scratch, and pop. Eventually I started to notice the left channel starts at the same volume as the right, but would become much softer after the unit was on for a few minutes. I've replaced transistors, and noticed an improvement with the volume of the left channel, but it still becomes quieter than the right after running for a few minutes. I think it's time to change the filter capacitors. The main filter is a 3 terminal Marcon. There are black wires connected to the terminal with a black dot, that is clearly the negative. The other 2 terminals have an orange wire connected to each. Those orange wires connect to a terminal junction. They are soldered to seperate lugs on the junction, but have a "bathtub" resistor soldered to both lugs. How important is this 3 terminal setup? Most modern power supply caps are only 2. Can both orange wires be soldered to the same terminal on a 2 pin capacitor? The caps values are 2200uf x2 50wv. It is a Marcon CE622W filter capacitor, and I can't find any information on it. All I find are ads selling vintage capacitors.

Those are dual section capacitors, like you read, 2200uF times two....(x2)
You'll need to replace them each with two.

I don't think that will solve your issue however.

And this is a quad, when you say left and right, which ones?

I agree.

Are you using the receiver in quadraphonic or stereo mode? If you are using it in stereo, set it to quadraphoic (4-channel) and see which channel(s) fades. You will need to trace the signal to the particular channel with the problem. It is most likely only one of the four channels.
