Greetings all,
Sorry this is such a simple question, but I'm trying to get this done and I think i'm just about there!
I picked up an hk 100m a few weeks ago. Great physical shape, but playback auto stops after a few seconds. Opened it up and poked around and eventually figured out the belt going from the take up reel to a spindle that connects to the counter had given up the ghost.
If I manually move the counter wheel playback continues fine, so I think replacing this one belt should get me back up and running. The belts I have are too thick though and don't quite fit- and from the remnants of what's left I can see it' was a pretty skinny square belt. I believe the ones I have are 1.5mm thick, the existing band doesn't look much more than half that.
Using the repair manual I can see it is reference number 718, which is part number 2642-01454, but is there any way to use this part number to actually track down the belt I need?
I've had pretty mixed luck with ordering belt "sets" off sellers claiming to have the right ones, and would rather avoid paying a premium if I don't have to. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
