Im looking to buy a Harman Kardon HK395i and was wondering if anyone had any experience with it and knew if its a good product. I have a the Audio Technica ATLP60 turntable and was wondering if this would be a good fit for it.
I own the HK 395i receiver, it has a very sweet bells and whistles sound and although it's only rated at 30 wpc it sounds much more powerful. It does tend to get quite warm, but i've had this for nearly 20 years and it's never let me down. Here is a link for some more info: http://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/harman-kardon/hk395i.shtml
I have the 385i, which I suspect is the model down (analogue tuning). It puts out a surprising amount of sound for a machine so small and light. Mine needed a little deoxiting of the tone controls, but that was it.
if it sounds similar to the 330i that i had for many years you should be happy. im partial to that hk era from my college years. so much music. must have played it too loud though as someone broke into our house and stole it. hope you will like yours as well
