I have a Harman Kardon PA5800 that I purchased 2nd hand, it had a shorted output in Channel 2 which I replaced and now the amp fires up and all 5 channels pass a clean signal, so I go to do the idle current adjustment which from the manual states 25mv.
Only 2 of my channels will adjust to 25mv, the other 3, which be the way you can see the original red material where it was locked down was much higher. So now the three channel have pots that are at the max adjustment and I have 47mv, 65mv, 33 mv. Now I know that these values are close and probably are not reason for concern but my feeling is some part/parts have drifted out of tolerance and I would feel better if all 5 channels where equal. Other than shot gunning it I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this model and perhaps knew if there was a specific component that would cause the idle adjustment to not reach it's range. I did notice with some freeze spray on Q79,Q82,Q64,Q69 that the idle would rise and lower which is normal I suppose but could indicate they might be out of tolerance?
