I am looking at the HK 630, can this be used as a preamp? Connect to the Dynaco ST70?

I don't see why not as the 630 Twin does have the pre amp out and main amp in jacks on the back.

Just some feedback about my 730 from my incredible technician: "I'm'a say I like it more than any other HK I've worked on for some time. Really! I admire how it's built, and its cosmetics, and of course it sounds good (pardon the expression). I could do without the unconventional FM tuning meter, but I'll grant that it's innovative.

As it happens, there was a 930 at XXX that overlapped with your 730 here at home. IMHO, you should not lust after a 930, despite it ostensibly being the TOTL of that era. I was really struck by how much better the 730 is built, and how the 730 has an FM stereo decoder that is of a later (and definitely superior) generation of technology..."
