Does anyone have any input on a Harmon Kardon T55C Turntable worth $130 ?-listed inop ?

I have a few technics - 2 -1350 ( Which I love ) , 3-1965 GE WildCats, etc.. I am reading the T55C is a step up ??

Back into vinyl after 40 years .. loving it. Family has a gallery downtown LA. I have actually sold 12 T/T to younger people wanted to be introduced to vinyl ( 8 of 12 are ladies under 26 yrs old .. who new :0 )

The HK is a tt in the same league as the technics, but not full auto or a changer. It is different in that it has a floating sub-chassis and isolates well but is susceptible to foot falls on soft floors. Good to mount on a wall mount if needed.

With the lesser tables getting 150 on the bay, then this one is well worth the 130 if all it needs is a belt. Check that the motor turns when you turn the unit on. The manual you got from vinylengine told you how that works. Get the belt from the bay or where ever, easy to install.

If the table comes with the record weight it is a deal at 130 as these weights sell for about 50 from different sources and this one has a strobe on the top to allow you to set the speed using proper light to see the strobe pattern.

Good dust cover, record weight, decent cartridge are all added benefits for making it a good buy. These and the Philips 212/312 are considered poor man's Thorens units. The tonearm on this one is decent, too. Don't forget to look into the Van Alstine (I think) power supply upgrades and use the unit with the quartz lock off, it sounds better.
