Harrison 32C Vintage Consoles - Let's Connect!

Hello friends,

I am new to the forum...joined because I somewhat recently acquired a vintage and storied late 70's Harrison 32C console from Music Row here in Nashville, TN from a friend. She's a beauty. But as you know of circa 70's consoles, needs TLC. I am in the process of getting her up an running after a long period of construction of a mix room and restoring a pair of vintage Altec 813Cs. I do have local support, both with friends and Harrison here in the city, but just wanted to see if there was anyone else out there in the forum with one of these consoles, so that we could congregate, swap knowledge, possibly parts, hopefully create a community around these gorgeous, graceful and elegant consoles.

So I just finished constructing the room. Got antsy to setup the console since it been on its side for 8 months. I have yet to treat the front and side walls. But here she is. Working out the kinks...haven't burned her (or the speakers) in yet.

I've been researching who recorded on this particular console. Basically anyone who came through LSR in Nashville from the late 70's util about 2006. That's a lot of folks. Some we've found where Johnny Cash and The Allman Brothers. I really love the routing on this console and its build. Looking forward to figuring out the best way to hybrid. Mostly, looking forward to getting out of the box.

I did - if memory serves it was installed in Jam studios in London (the old Decca 3 studio) with Urei 815 (?) monitors.

Those Urei monitors lack the foamed plastics at the edges of the horns. Maybe you can fix them too.

Thanks karik57! Good eye! These 813's are a hybrid. Those biamped speakers are actually 6048g(s) from the 813As...the cabinets are 813Cs (which had the speakers with the foam lining to mellow out the highs). Hence, instead of the built in crossovers, I managed to meet someone who knew the engineers who designed these and had all the specs. We decided to use a Behringer Ultracurve crossover to dial in the magic according to an interpolated spec. Most importantly the "time-aligned" time delay between the subs (which are period as well) and the 6048gs. All speakers have been reconed by probably one the the last guys in the field who still know how to do these. I've been very fortunate/blessed.

Anyhooo, going to finish some room treatments then start measuring and tuning those suckers. Still working on the console. I think it needs to be recapped. It has everything from "orange-drops" to more modern blacks. I'm getting there...labor of love.

These certainly where all over the place, as you know. This one is actually an 4032C, but I dont have the other 8 channels. Maybe I'll find them some day. Yeah, likely there where 815s or 813s at Jam. Those models where certainly the standard in studios of that day.

i´m also about to buy my second harrsion (had one from 2000-2015). its in incredible shape and also has incredible history (few queen LPs incl "another one bites the dust" was done on this) and i cant wait for her to arrive in my studio in berlin!
i´m looking for the original harrison auto-set automation for it and was wondering if somebody had an idea where i could look for it? it doesnt have to work (amazing if it does!) just wanna put this on the side table! gonna look so sick!
