me, being used to paper cones...wondering if anyone had a thought on what those drivers bring to the table (my preconception is that they offer detail, clarity, dynamics)

some specs:

response: 35-20k, imp: 4 ohm, sens: 92db recom power: 25-200 watts,
size: 9 x 10 x 46 95 lbs ea

2 SEAS Magnesium 7" drivers and a Scan Speak Revelator tweeter

I've heard the SEAS Thors, which have the same woofers in a transmission line cabinet, with the SEAS-equivalent of that Scan-Speaker tweeter (ie, the Excel tweeter).

Very good speaker, if the crossover is done right. That's a BIG 'if', because with metal cone drivers, things can get completely out of hand, if the upper-end breakup modes aren't dealt with properly...

Gordon.

Ho hum. Another Scan-Speak 7" carbon-fiber woofer/tweeter combo. How many manufacturers are using that same driver combo? I lose count.

Despite all the hoopla and the myriad people trying at it, I haven't heard any speaker with that driver combination I would call "state of the art" myself. There's just something "missing" in the upper mids... not enough "snap" on transients...

Regards,
Gordon.
