Has anyone heard this tweeter.....

This tweeter is a component of of a vintage 3-way speaker. Any idea what the dome material is, and does it sound say as good as a silk dome peerless tweeter for example?

Picture of the whole speaker cabinet to follow...

Thanks,

Model 4 which is a 3-way with what looks like a 10" woofer and the 4" midrange

The woofers need to be refoamed and the grills are in respectable condition. The cabinets are kinda rough too.

My brother had a pair of 6's in the mid-seventies and I eventually inherited them. They sound real good.

The tweeter dome is made of phenolic plastic as was used in the entire line of Jensen "Sono-dome" tweeters. They sound quite good in fact.

Phenolic resin, not plastic, it's basically lacquer and is usually used with a fibrous filler, in this case a woven "cloth" filler.

There are many good sounding drivers out there with phenolic diaphragms, both direct-radiating and compression drivers.
