Has anyone tried the new Telefunken Black Diamond tubes?

I was surfing the web for KT88's and I saw there is a new production series of Telefunken tubes called Black Diamond. I think they are made by JJ.

The KT88's are pretty pricey at $84.99. They have preamp tubes as well.

Has anyone tried these?

I think you'd be better off with the Gold Lion KT88s, which are favorably reviewed and very robust. JJ power tubes make me very nervous . . .

They are JJ tubes.

The only difference: a supposed cryogenic treatment and a Telefunken logo that has no business on JJ tubes. (or rather, a Telefunken logo that JJ tubes have no business sporting)

The great names don't mean anything these days, they just got bought, that's all. A JJ is a JJ unless they resurrected the people and machinery. :D

I am, as some of you said, nervous, and cautious about this offering.

Not to mention that the price is higher then most other brands.

Regarding the Genelex KT88's I know folks love them but I had lots of issues with those so I have not put them back in my amp since. I had one of those tubes take out a resistor on the PCB, one that went pop, and another with a filament that went out, all after not being in my amp for more than a few weeks or months.

I was in a KT88 tube rolling mode, so I guess I will look for another brand until someone else tries these new Telefunken's before I do. :)

Thanks
