Has Pioneer Dropped Internet Radio Support?

same here, my N-50 quit streaming internet radio last week. This is why I hate proprietary network solutions. Luckily the ApplePlay feature still works, but going to need to do some rethinking how to approach this with the same level of convenience it had.

Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't know they existed.

Do you have any suggestions? A quick Google revealed Internet Radios but I can't seem to find just tuners that can plug into a receiver.

DS256, as others have said there are internet radio streamers that work. I am very picky with the sound quality of the music I enjoy.....I recently purchased the Wiim Pro (with voice remote control) reluctantly (reviews were mixed but had a lot of positive). I must say this little box does what it says...cd quality stream/playback, MUCH better than using any bluetooth device. Wiim has dropped the Airplay2 apparently, but I use my iphone with (my owned) iTunes music through the Wiim app or others (Amazon, Spotify etc). The Wiim app is VERY good (I'm old and gray haired), I have the Wiim wired with LAN and using coax output to my VSX 94TXH CD coax input and its does sound excellent. Just my honest 2 cents, hope this helps!

To clarify; the Wiim Ultra does not support Airplay2. The Mini, the Pro and the Pro Plus do support Airplay 2.

a quick follow up, I have my previous iPhone that still works in wifi mode, and has my iTunes library. my favorite station was 1FM, which you can access on an app. This plays through the USB on the front of the unit, seems to work just fine. the unit also charges the phone when playing.

I use an iPad and the free Radio Garden app to stream internet radio from around the workd to my amp using a 25' 3.5 mm to dual RCA cable, $10 on Amazon Kabeldirekt brand..

But could just as easily use my smart phone, since it has a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

For the WimPro you will need to still use your phone to control it with the WimPro app.

Side note, I've read that Radio Garden is a data collection app - if you have an Android, go remove all those permissions.

For years, I've been listening to OTR and audiobooks (librivox) on various streamers.
Honestly, 5+ years ago, they all worked pretty well. They had all the basic functions down.
Then the corporate takeovers came along - first Logitech bought and shut down my fav player. Then another player I used was absorbed by Tune-in, so I used Tune-in and it was OK at first too.
I bought Tune-in Pro but they changed the app, deleted the Pro version (so I lost my "lifetime" paid version) and introduced the monthly fee model. And they just kept adding more adverts.
So I switched to Radio.net and have been using that for the last few years.
Now to the point of this thread - just yesterday all my saved stations in Radio.net are now "not available" and I assume they also now want me to pay to access free, public internet streams.
What a load of $hit IMO. I guess I'll just go back to navigating to each streaming website and initiate my stream from there - free with no adverts.
(EDIT: I don't mind the adverts in the apps, i figured that is how they make money. I do not want audio adverts inserted into and OVER the stream! So many times on Tune-in, I'd just get to the end of a mystery show where the killer is revealed, only to have an advert break in and play over my stream, so when the advert was done, so was the mystery. **** how stupid is that?).

Hi I bought a Onkyo receiver in 2016 and the Internet radio works fine my wife likes to listen to Brazilian radio station from her home town

I have a Pioneer VX-824 and, because it's in the basement, I use Internet radio stations to listen to music.

Last Friday, I received an error that the server was responding. Happened before but the outage continued. It now reports my station selection is 'empty'.

When I try and connect to www.radio-pioneer.com, to check my selection, it times out on the redirect pioneer.vtuner.com. www.vtuner.com is active.

I posted queries to both Pioneer and vTuner but have not heard anything back. I was hoping someone has heard some since I don't monitor the audiofile sites.

I’m having the exact same problem with my Pioneer VSX-94TXH, I get a “server connection error”, so I’m sssuming they dropped support to it.
