Taken from a Yahoo story on the competing BluRay and HD DVD standards for the next generation of DVD's:

Asked if consumers would have to buy their favorite movies again, Blu-ray spokesman Simonis said: "Of course! But it will enrich your life."

I think I am gonna buy me a 16 mm Bell & Howell sound projector. All those old movies that libraries had must still be out there, somewhere

Met this fella at the flea market a coupla times. He looked like Shaggy from Scooby Doo. Mostly he sold old crumpled up boxes of Twinkies he had dug out of the dumpster. Nice guy, though. He said he had a ton of 16mm movies. The local library was paying women to take pliers and pull the reels apart, then dump the film in the trash. He managed to rescue tons of the stuff, along with the racks they were in. He said he would bring some out to the market someday for me to look at but no such luck.
