Rebeats' comment "...we correct the radial/tangential errors..." in the Digital Music News article caught my attention. If they can digitally manipulate the groove waveform before mapping it as a stamper, they could theoretically alter the lateral "cutting" angle of the laser to introduce an inverse tracking error. If optimized for a given specific arm geometry, the playback tracking error could be zero across the entire groove area. The inverse error would not be exact for all tonearm geometries since there is no adhered to standard for length, overhang, offset angle, and null points, but might yield an average improvement for conventional offset arms. Of course, this would have a detrimental effect when playing such inverse-tracking-error-corrected discs on linear tracking arms...
