The bureaucracy involved must be huge, however, for I haven´t received anything yet.:no::sigh:

I've read some confounded versions of these scams but this one is probably the worst of the lot. Lokking for a copy of your id. Also, today in the local paper there was an expose about a guy selling fake university diplomas. May you should buy one of the fakes and send it to the emailer as proof of id.
 
They just did a thing on Oprah about these things. I always wondered why they kept sending them. Surely no one is stupid enough to fall for this. But I was wrong. Tons of people actually send them thousands of dollars. It's amazing.
 
I know you're supposed to just delete these as a matter of course, 95% of 'em I do. Sometimes, just because I get fed up w/it all & wanna have a little innocent, dirty fun, I'll send back a message as vile, venomous & violent as my deranged & devious mind can dream up-emphasizing what I'd LOVE to do to certain parts of their mothers' anatomy-or theirs'. Once or twicet, I've actually told 'em I'm a rich American who is dying of this disease, Achybreaky Heart, & I need someone to leave my millions to. Never have heard back from any of 'em, though.
 
It's like Junk mail used to be. Junk mail was considered a huge success if just 4% responded and then 25% of that bought somethign so basically 1%

If they send this crap out to 10 million email addresses and just 1/10th of the success of junk mail sends them money or gives them ID info then they have 1000 people sending them money. If those people only send $1000.00 each they make a million bucks.
 
We used to respond to those nigerian scam emails at work. We would lead them on as long as possible. The reply from us always included pic’s, questions and ridiculous requests. Sometimes we would tell them our name was actually our Engineering Director who was at another location and give them his direct fax number. He would get bank transfer requests and other documents. We had one guy fax his picture ID for bank purposes.
