Headphone amp for McIntosh MX110z

I recently acquired an Audeze LCD-2 (pre fazor rev2) and wanted to find a headphone amp to use with my McIntosh MX110z. Has anyone had any successes in pairings that worked well?

Been reading about Schiit Audio Magni Heresy and the Vali 2+ but wasn’t sure about how it would work with the mx110z? Also, would it be okay to use the Tape Out to connect the headphone amp?

I’ve been using the Audeze with the Mac4100 which seems to power them fine. Would an separate headphone amp improve the sound of the LCD-2s?

Thank you so much in advance!

I’m using an iFi Zen Can with my Parasound P/Ld 1100 preamp to drive my AKG712s. I’m using the second set of outputs so I can use the remote control to adjust the volume from my chair. I’m sure you’d be fine using the line outs on your McIntosh.

Thanks for your reply! I was actually just reading about the iFi Zen Can. How do you like them? They are actually very similar in price to the vali 2+.

Like it a lot.

I just ordered one! Another question I had was do you know how this compares against older more expensive headphone amps like the grace m902?

regardless really excited to try the balanced 4.4 with the audeze. I guess it makes a big difference?

Thanks so much!
