Headphone Amp w/EQ?

I'm in the process of setting up a second space with a small footprint just to listen t vinyl through headphones. I already have a second table and I'm using Audio Technica ATH-M40fs Studiophones.

This has me looking into headphone amps, but they all seem to have only a volume knob, without bass or treble. Are there ones that exist?

Ive seen a few on fleabay. Finished and in kit form. One I saw had bass, treble and mid controls. They used very small sliders the foot print was about the size of the little bear pre.

Would a tube headphone amp with controls be too much of a stretch?

I don't know if you've found what you're looking for, but Schiit has some great headphone amps. You could use those with a regular equalizer since they have RCA inputs. That would give better adjustment than just bass and treble.

I just use a NAD 106 preamp for my headphone amp @ home.
It does double duty as my nearfield preamp as well.

That preamp has bass/treble/balance with a tape monitor switch as well as mono & tone defeat switches.
Beauty of that preamp is it can drive any "difficult to drive" headphones out there,as it can put out like 8V > 600ohm headphones,so it drives my 600ohm AKG's with ease.

I also have a choice of between using the EQ in the desktop PC that's feeding the preamp -or- I can use the DOD 830 Series II GEQ that's in the NAD 106's tape loop.

For headphone use I mostly use the EQ in the desktop PC as it's way easier to try various settings to nail down what a given set of cans like.

Small footprint is that ^^^^ systems middle name,total width = 50" +/- and depth = 24" +/-.

Mine is set-up mostly for digital use right now,,,but that NAD 106 preamp does have a phono preamp in it as well...
DAC between the desktop & preamp is a cheap Fiio D3 for now,but plan is to upgrade that sooner or later.
Desktop PC uses a SB Zx soundcard via the optical outs to that D3 DAC.

Thanks everyone. The only other one with tone controls that I found was from Bravo Audio, and the reviews were mixed, although I'm not sure how much to read into them.

I'm also debating the Schiit Valhalla 1 or 2, and the Little Dot III, then worry about EQ later if those don't do it for me. I have a small Yamaha mixer that I could use in a pinch.

I have a Bravo V2. Although it only has a volume control I'm reasonably happy with it. It's sound went up a notch when I replaced the original tube.

It's tiny, but the Fiio E17 has EQ and gain control. It's a very nice piece of kit.
