Heathkit AD-1013 Scope Problem

I recently acquired a Heathkit AD-2013 audio scope. It seems to work ok except when set to the 4 channel display. I’m feeding 4 channels from my Pioneer RT-1020L tape deck but when I select the 4 channel display all I get is a dot in the middle of the screen. The 2 channel display works fine, and I can see all 4 channels when I select to display the individual channels. I have the schematic and I figure it must be something wrong in the 4 channel decoder section, but it seems odd that nothing shows up on the display. I have the manual but the initial adjustment section only seems to address 2 channel setup. Does anyone have any experience with this unit? Amy I doing something wrong?

I think I discovered what’s wrong and it’s not a problem, it’s a feature. On reading the specs for the audio scope the input sensitivity on the individual channels is 25 mv but in 4 channel mode the sensitivity is 1 v p-p. The scope is connected to the output of my tape deck and apparently it’s not getting enough signal in 4 channel mode. If I turn up the scope gain to maximum I can see very slight deflection on the crt In 4 channel mode. So it works, but not in my application.
 
Problem solved! I bought 2 tiny 20db stereo amplifiers and installed them between the tape deck and the audio scope. Now it works in 4 channel mode too. The 20db amplifiers are not in the audio stream to the main amplifier. But it’s a snake pit of cables.
