Heathkit AS-10 Speakers? Yes!

I got a pair of these Heathkit AS-10 speakers at GW for $25 plus tax today. I haven't hooked them up or removed the back to check things out yet, but they look to have vintage Jenses or EV 10's in them? Maybe a Utah 10, but we'll find out soon...

They were Heathkit's artifical, low cost AR-2 (they also sold a Heathkit version of the "real" AR-2 with AR drivers at higher cost). I don't know of any EV 10" drivers of that era; probably Utah or Jensen. Lots of 1960s through early 1970s lower cost Heathkit speakers used Jensen drivers.

they are jensen drivers and nothing to write home about either. i was thoroughly dissapointed in mine given how good the as-1373's were

Maybe with some tweaking and modding, they could sing? Vintage Jensens aren't the worst speakers around, after all...

Congrats!
I liked mine when I had them.
Used them in the office but let them go a couple of months ago just because I had too many speakers.
Pretty unusual hook up on the back.
