Picked up a pair of these at a yard sale over the weekend. Like a need more big and heavy speakers. I couldn't pass them up though. Did a quick test and all seems to work, but the woofers need a refoam. Anybody know of a source for direct fit foam for these woofers or do I need to scavenge web?

Thanks
John

Those look like they would sound very nice indeed! What a cool speaker. What's the deal with the rear firing woofer and that thing over it?

A friend of mine had a set back in the late 70's he built. I had Altec 19's at the time. They would give my Altecs a run for the money.

Yup Philips drivers all the way! real nice sounding speakers. Sold my set to an asian exporter because mine had replacement rat shack woofers and I knew it would be nearly impossible to track down original drivers

Funny thing. I have a set of woofers.

Interesting speakers @sol7 - Heathkit, hmm?
Did you keep them? Any comments on them?

Geeze, it's been 11 years? Still have them, but it's been a while since I've listened to them. I liked them enough to still hang on to them.
Here's a video of them from when I first got them. I wish the room still looked like that....

Nice, thank you. Cowboy Junkies sound great in the video.
There seems to be a lot of nearly unknown Heathkit speakers that came out over the years.
That model doesn't seem to have a name-brand equivalent like my AS-101s to the Altec Valencias ...

I think they were straight up Heathkit designs. They did use all Philips drivers though. Well, at least the mids and tweeters. Can't remember about the woofer, but I'm pretty sure that was Philips also.

Now I wan't to hook them up and listen to them....

Yes, the specs say Philips 15" woofers - looks like they were only available a brief while 80-81 ...
found them in the 1980 Heathkit Christmas catalog! $660 a pair - amazing (!)
22Hz to 22k - ... they really look cool.

Hello, I just got a nice pair,
So I'm trying to access the 15" sub to clean and inspect, now there's flathead bolts around the circumference of the slotted rear round baffle, for the lack of a better term, lol.
I took them out, they looked like they were holding it on,
but there it stayed.
I see there's angled screws at Tom and bottom of side panels, so I was thinking maybe that's the only way, but it looks kinda tricky that way, gotta be a easier way.im convinced the round wooden panels covering the 15" rear subs in the back, must drop off someway easier then taking apart the side panel, no? Lol
Thanks alot, could email Dannyhall16atyahoodotcom
Or awnser here if u want, appreciate it

The woofer is attached to the slot loaded board. The board is attached to the cabinet with the outer screws. Might be stuck to cabinet.
